Warranty Information
Vehicle body warranty description
Maxi-Low UK Limited lightweight commercial vehicle bodies come with the following warranties;
Manufacturer's warranty (OEM specific)
Maxi-Low 3 year roof, wall and floor warranty
Other ancillary equipment (doors, lighting, tail-lifts etc.) are covered under component manufacturer's warranty but are limited to a period of cover of 12 months from date of registration.
Maxi-Low UK Limited accept no liability for the base chassis warranty (stage one). This is a separate warranty and would be covered directly by the vehicle stage one manufacturer (e.g. Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen etc.).
Various warranty upgrade options are available - please contact Maxi-Low UK Limited for further information.
Return to base definition
If the vehicle body should fail due to a manufacturing defect within the specified warranty period, then Maxi-Low should be notified in the first instance. Maxi-Low UK Limited will advise whether the repair will need to be returned to the manufacturing plant or whether a third-party repair can be authorised.
This will be at the sole discretion of Maxi-Low UK Limited. In the first instance, the cost of returning the vehicle to the manufacturing plant or repair centre will be the responsibility of the customer. If on investigation, the vehicle is deemed to have a manufacturing defect and is within the warranty period it will be repaired at no cost and returned to the nominated UK Mainland address.
If a fault occurs on the vehicle manufacturer chassis, then in the first instance, an appointed manufacturer's dealer should be contacted.
If a warranty fault occurs on a ancillary item i.e. tail lift, door, locking system, within the warranty period, then contact should be made with the relevant supplier.
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the problem they are experiencing is not related to misuse, lack of general maintenance, failure to maintain, abuse or damage. Vehicles returned as having No Fault Found (NFF) will incur charges based on the standard hourly rate of £60 + Vat, based on the amount of time spent checking for rectification works required in addition to any other associated costs.
Activating your warranty
1. The warranty period begins from the date of registration of the base vehicle, your signature on your signed proposal is confirmation of acceptance to this.
2. The warranty does not cover preventative maintenance or cost of rectifying any items due to misuse, damage, abuse or neglect of any part or fitment of the body. This also includes overloading the vehicle or “point loading”.
3. The warranty does not extend to the use of incorrect load restraining in the vehicle or the use of “NONAPPROVED” load lashing straps. “HEEL and TOE” Type strapping must be being used. This includes the incorrect load strapping methods of cross body /vehicle strapping.
4. The warranty covers the “body only” of the supplied vehicle and not the “mechanical” stage one of the vehicle (e.g. the vehicle engine, mechanics etc) this would need to be taken up under a separate warranty agreement as supplied by the base vehicle manufacturer (e.g. Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen).
